Montessori Math Printouts

Mathematics in the Montessori classroom is a beautifully concrete, hands-on journey. Children don’t begin with abstract symbols on a worksheet β€” they begin by touching quantities, building numbers with beads and rods, and seeing the relationship between a numeral and the amount it represents. The free printouts on this page support that journey at home or in the classroom, pairing with classic Montessori materials to give children additional opportunities to practice and extend their understanding.

How to Use These Printouts

Print each PDF on cardstock when possible β€” it makes the cards more durable for small hands. Laminating is even better, especially for materials your child will sort, match, and rearrange on a work mat. Introduce each printout after your child has had concrete experience with the corresponding Montessori material. For example, use the Number Rods Printout after your child has worked with the physical Number Rods. Counting & Quantity (Ages 3–6)

Counting 1 to 10

Counting 1–10

A foundational printout for children learning to count and recognize numerals one through ten.

Counting Arrows blank

Counting Arrows (Blank)

Use with the hundred board or bead chains. Children fill in the arrows to mark skip-counting milestones.

Counting Chain Arrows

Counting Chain Arrows

Designed to accompany the short and long bead chains, reinforcing skip counting and multiplication readiness.

Quantity Tiles

Quantity Tiles

Tiles showing quantities as dot patterns. Match these to number tiles for a concrete numeral-quantity association activity.

Number Tiles

Number Tiles

Companion to Quantity Tiles. Print, cut, and let children pair each numeral with the correct quantity.

Number Cards & Place Value (Ages 4–7)

Montessori number cards are essential for teaching place value. Children layer the cards β€” ones on top of tens on top of hundreds β€” to physically see how 365 is made of 300 + 60 + 5.

Number Rods & Frames (Ages 3–6)

The Number Rods are one of the first Montessori math materials a child encounters. These printouts extend that work onto paper.

Number Rods Key

Number Rods Key

A control-of-error reference for self-correction.

Number Frames

Number Frames

Frame-style grids for visualizing quantities and developing number sense.

Pink Tower Counter Cards

Pink Tower Counter Cards

A bridge between the Sensorial and Math areas β€” children count cubes and match to cards.

Fractions (Ages 5–9)

Recommended Hands-On Materials

I hope these printouts serve your family well. Mathematics is not something to be feared β€” it is a language of the universe, and your child is ready to speak it.
